Fab alert! The "What Makes It Great?" series is ah-may-zing. I saw Rob Kapilow and the NEC Philharmonia dissect and then perform Beethoven: Symphony No. 1 this weekend. Kapilow's energy is endearing and infectious. I found myself, a classical music novice, easily absorbing the history as well as his enthusiasm for the subject. BRAVO!

I attended this performance on a whim and was surprised by how satisfying it was. Too often I see a production with an incredible orchestra, otherworldly opera singers or captivating actors only to be distracted by poor costume or set design choices. Felt great to see an orchestra alone (well, in this case with Rob Kapilow but he is great!)

The greatest show ever....

is Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812! (Presented at the American Repertory Theater) This is the kind of show everyone should see to fall in love with theater.

It's exciting, all-encompassing, high-energy and you feel like you're at a party the whole time. Also just announced that Josh Groban will have his Broadway debut as Pierre...ooh la la! I am so lucky to have laid my little hands on these costumes!
